IRON RIVER – A State Trooper was injured during a pursuit Friday of a suspect in Iron River.
The Michigan State Police says the Trooper responded at 12:15 a.m. Friday to a report of a suspicious situation on Genesee Street when he found a broken window at an Iron River business. The Trooper followed a blood trail to a nearby residence.
A 30-year-old Iron River man fled the scene on foot and the Trooper ran after him. The Trooper fell during the pursuit but was still able to apprehend the man. Both were treated at Northstar Health Systems in Iron River. The suspect was treated for injuries sustained from the broken window. The Trooper was treated and released for injuries during the pursuit.
The suspect is lodged at the Iron County Jail pending arraignment. The Trooper was assisted by the Iron County Sheriff’s Department.
