Trapper says trapping would have helped hit Michigan wolf hunt quota
ESCANABA – An officer with the U.P. Trappers Association says Michigan would have met its quota of 43 wolves if the state would have allowed trapping like Wisconsin and Minnesota. When the season ended Tuesday, only 23 wolves were taken in three zones in the Upper Peninsula.

Wolf killed, driver injuried in accident in Escanaba
ESCANABA – A wolf was killed on U.S. 2 and 41 on the west end of Escanaba Monday night when it was hit by vehicle heading out of town. The accident occurred just after 7 p.m. near the Comfort Suites motel.
