Listen to student winners in the annual Youth in Art exhibit
ESCANABA – Students from 6th to 12th grade received awards last night for their artwork entered in the annual “Youth in Art” exhibit at the Bonifas Fine Arts Center in Escanaba.
Gladstone freshman Kallie Hubert won an award for her artwork titled “Cornell Chickens.”
“I actually have pet chickens and I based it on that,” Hubert said, “and I live in Cornell so Cornell Chickens. We were suppose to do beda dots and so I decided to do the body in black with white dots.”
Hubert said beda dots id like pop art. She says the black and white dots can make the artwork look grey.
The Youth in Art exhibit will be on display at the Bonifas until April 24.
