GWINN – A 31-year-old Sawyer man was arrested Thursday for stolen property and possession of a firearm as a felon.
The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) says the man was charged with one count of receiving and concealing stolen property and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
After the arrest, UPSET detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s home on Invader Street in Sawyer. They found additional evidence and seized an undisclosed amount of drugs.
The man is lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
UPSET says the case is being received by the Marquette County Prosecutor and the U.S. Attorney Office in Marquette.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) assisted in the investigation. Also assisting UPSET were the Michigan State Police Hometown Security Team and K-9 units from state police posts in Calumet and Gladstone.
