Listen to the interview with David Moyle, Democrat for Delta County Commission District 4
ESCANABA – Dave Moyle is running for his fourth term as a Democrat on the Delta County Commission in District 4.
He says he likes helping people with their problems. He is most proud of recent funding for a full time Veterans Services Officer in the county.
“We went from having a very nice person doing ten hours a week to a full-time person. This year alone he’s helped more than 200 veterans who served the country honorably. They come home and they might be fighting PSD or they’re fighting just to find out what some of the resources are. Now we have a full-time person that the county is funding and I’m fiercely proud of that,” said Moyle.

The most difficult issues he says he’s had to deal with over the past six years include the controversy at the disc golf course at Pioneer Trail Park and the ordinance governing wind turbines in the county.
He is very concerned about the vote next week to fund a new jail and Sheriff’s office that he says is desperately needed.
“I’ve heard people say they’re taxed to the limited and I understand that. I have two buildings, one commercial and residential and I get walloped. But I tell you what, two blocks from my home there was an attempted ax murder. Two people were on meth, they were as high as a kite, and a simple bugger was just walking home, not high, not on drugs. They thought he was following them and the guy took a hatchet out. That’s two blocks from my house,” Moyle said.
Moyle is being challenged by Republican Mary Gail Blasier.
