ESCANABA — Dr. Kim Johnson at OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group was named the Northern Region Culture of Philanthropy Honoree for OSF HealthCare Foundation.
The Culture of Philanthropy Celebration recognizes one Mission Partner from each of the four geographical regions of OSF HealthCare.
Dr. Johnson joined OSF HealthCare in 2008 as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist in the OSF St. Francis Women’s Center.
She has played an active role in the Physician Governance Council, OSF HealthCare Obstetric Collaborative, OSF Transformational Leader Program and the Ministry Leadership Formation Program. She served as the Vice President of Medical Staff Services for three years and currently serves as the operational leader for the OSF HealthCare Medical Group in Escanaba as the Director of Physician Practices, in addition to maintaining her practice as an OB/GYN in the OSF St. Francis Women’s Center.
She was a founding member of the OSF Women in Philanthropy Group and is a significant supporter of OSF St. Francis events, such as the annual Heart of Gold Dinner and Going for the Green Golf Outing.
“I am truly humbled to have been selected for this honor. The expression of care and love for our community is the true expression of philanthropy that is seen throughout OSF HealthCare and St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group. I am proud to be a part of this family,” Johnson said.
The award began with Dr. Rick Pearl of Peoria, IL, who understood what it meant to engage a family beyond the role of a patient and grew to a collaboration of the OSF HealthCare community with a global impact, the Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center.
“The Culture of Philanthropy is deeper than supporting a charity. It is an understanding of the impact one can make through sharing a vision and embracing a partnership with our patients, families and the OSF Healthcare Foundation. By fostering a Culture of Philanthropy, our Mission Partners provide instrumental support of the Sister’s mission to serve with the greatest care and love,” said Jean Arvan of OSF Foundation.
This collaboration impacts the Delta County community in the space of education, training, population health management and bringing new and innovative technology to those that OSF HealthCare serves.
