CALUMET – A Houghton County woman says she was in complete shock when she won $100-thousand playing the Michigan Lottery’s $100 Grand Cashword instant game. She says she and her fiance looked at the ticket several times to make sure it really was a winner.
“I scratched the ticket off when I got home from the store and I was shocked to see it was such a big winner,” said the player. “My fiancé and I looked the ticket over several times just to make sure it was really a big winner.”
The ticket was bought at Pat’s Foods in Calumet over the Labor Day weekend. The woman has chosen to remain anonymous.
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to buy a home and a newer vehicle.
“Winning $100,000 is just a shock and a blessing. I still can’t believe I won,” the player said.
