ESCANABA – Holy Name Catholic School recently held a Bake Sale for Filipino earthquake and typhoon victims.
Holy Name students recently held a bake sale to raise money to help the needy people in the Philippines after the devastation caused by the recent earthquake and typhoon.
According to organizers, the response to the bake sale was tremendous. The school raised over $1,500 for Filipino relief efforts.
The students held the bake sale to support Holy Name Catholic School’s custodian, Nila, whose family home in the Philippines was partially destroyed by the recent earthquake. Before the event, Nila posed for pictures with Holy Name’s Readiness Kindergarten class, taught by Judy LaMarch.
LaMarch is part of the Early Childhood team at Holy Name Catholic School. For more information on Holy Name or its new, unique Early Childhood concept, call the school at 786-7550, or visit their website at www.holynamecrusaders.com.
