ESCANABA — Band Boosters at the Escanaba High School are holding a pancake dinner fundraiser on Thursday, Feb. 7.
Senior Bella Wessell says along with the pancakes, students participating in the solo ensemble competition will perform throughout the fundraiser.
“Also at the pancake dinner will be 50/50 drawings and there are prizes that you can buy tickets for. You put your name in the bucket and then they draw,” she said.
Brendan Bennett says the funds help students in the solo ensemble and other musical programs at the school. He says it’s an important part of their education.
“We all come together in the band and we make music together and we all love it,” said Bennett. “That’s the other thing about Band Boosters. All the funding we get for instrument repairs, rentals, music scholarships, busing to events, it’s all from them. That’s why this pancake dinner is a pretty big thing.”
The pancake dinner will be held Feb. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the high school commons. The pep band will play at the event before the start of that night’s basketball game.
Tickets are available from any band member in the 7th through 12th grades.
