Listen to the interview with author Jen Pease
ESCANABA – Author Jen Pease of Escanaba has created a pirate world in her mind that she is bringing to life in her books.
She is writing a series of books about a wicked female pirate captain in the Pirate Vixen.
“The main characters in my book fall in love but at the same time they still are pirates. There’s a lot of fighting, there’s a lot of swashbuckling, there’s Orcs in there and somewhat Lord of the Rings kind of things, a kingdom. It’s really cool. It’s beyond just a pirate book,” Pease said.
Pirate Vixen of the Red Dawn: A Vixen’s Valor came out in 2016. The second book, Pirate Vixen: Test of Fate, came out in November last year. The third book is expected in October or November.
“In the second book, she obtains a second ship by taking over someone who tries to kill her. So, they now have two ships in the fleet. The third book will go into who will man the ship and how they are going to take on adventures as two,” said Pease.
She will be at a Local Authors Fair Thursday night at the Escanaba Public Library from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to sell and sign books. She said it’s a great opportunity to meet various authors from the U.P.
“You can stop by, talk with the authors, maybe buy a book, have that book signed. If you can’t buy a book, that’s fine. Stop by and talk with us, visit, has some hor dorves. It’s going to be really fun,” Pease said.
Pease has gained a following on social media that has created a following for her series. In March 2019 she will be participating in book signing event in Paris.
