Listen to the interview with Kevin Chown
ESCANABA — Two episodes of the Swedish reality television show “Allt för Sverige,” The Great Swedish Adventure, have now aired. Escanaba native Kevin Chown is one of the 10 American participants in the show.
He said it has been interesting to watch the programs which are posted on YouTube.
“When you are there, it’s constant sensory overload. You learn so much in such a short amount of time. And, you are learning about a bunch of new people you just met. You become friends with them and you are learning about their stories too,” Chown said.

The show focuses on the Swedish ancestry of the Americans. Chown said he learned a lot about his family and what it meant for them to leave everything behind for America.
“It’s quite an adventure in a way for a lot of people but immigration and immigrants in particular are probably the most courageous people in the world and I now have my own family as evidence of such,” he said.
Chown graduated from Escanaba High School and currently plays as a bass player with Finnish singer Tarja Turunen.
The show is one of the most watched TV shows in Sweden. It ends with one American left in the show. Chown cannot say how long he will last in the series.
