MENOMINEE – The body found in Menominee County during the opening day of the firearm deer season has been identified.
The Menominee County Sheriff’s Department says the remains are of 44-year-old Gerod F. Prince of Milwaukee. He was reported missing in September.
There were no signs of foul play. The Menominee County Medical Examiner says the cause of death was exposure.
The body was discovered at 10:40 a.m. Nov. 15 by deer hunters on state land in Cedarville Township. Deputies from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department and Conversation Officers from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene and recovered the body
The body was handled by Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home and will be released to the immediate family in Milwaukee. Also assisting in this investigation was the Milwaukee Police Department and the Marinette Police Department.
