Listen to the interview with Mary Schram-Blasier, Republican for Delta County Commission District 4
ESCANABA – Mary Schram-Blasier is challenging Democrat Dave Moyle for the Delta County Commission in District 4 in Tuesday’s election.
She has been attending county meeting for the past 6 to 7 months. She says it is not what she expected.
“I thought that their reach was farther. I thought that the venues were bigger. It’s mostly budgetary sorts of things and deciding on deposition of county lands and things like that. All of that makes a difference in people’s lives, absolutely. But it wasn’t what I expected but I’m impressed,” Blasier said.

The number one issue she hears as she goes door to door in her campaign is drugs. She says people are concerned about how drugs are affecting the community.
“Just the fact that it seems so wide spread and unearthing these meth labs and then there is the cycle of crime and drugs and addiction. It’s all a vicious cycle that makes people feel unsafe,” said Blasier.
Blasier says she also supports the millage request on the ballot for a new jail.
