ESCANABA – An Escanaba man was arraigned this morning in Delta County District Court for the murder Wednesday of his wife.
Kallay Batchelor, 36, was arrested Wednesday after Escanaba Public Safety officers found Heather Batchelor, 32, dead in the upstairs bedroom of a home at 206 Stephenson Avenue.
Public Safety received a call at 4:19 a.m. of a female with an object in her throat. They found a knife protruding from the throat area. An investigation determined that a domestic assault resulted in her death.
Kallay Batchelor was arraigned by video on a felony charge of homicide/open murder. It carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. He is being held at the Delta County Jail without bond.
