Listen to the interview with Kristine Granger and Emilie Schada, Bay College
ESCANABA — A reception will be held at Bay College to preview the works of world-renowned artist Robert Addison. He was a realist artist based in Chicago who was known for mastery of light and shadow.
Kristine Granger, Fine Arts Coordinator at Bay, said Addison’s wife, Betsy Wickman Addison, was from Escanaba so he spent time here painting in the area.
“We have incredible works of art that are going to be in the exhibition that are taken from buildings and homes here, right in Escanaba. So, you will be able to make some of those comparisons with the places that are here now,” said Granger.
Bay has aquired 40 pieces of work. Tickets to “An Evening with Addison” are on sale at baycollege.edu for a fundraising reception Nov. 1 in the Besse Gallery. It will include music, food and an art auction.
